    Kieren Beard has been teaching all levels of English in NSW secondary schools for over 10 years. Having graduated from University of Sydney (with Honours), Kieren has since gained a wealth of experience teaching in secondary schools across South and South-West Sydney. These experiences across diverse environments have provided unique opportunities to develop his approach to teaching all ranges of students; ensuring they achieve their learning needs and academic goals. He’s currently completing a Master of Education Leadership at University of Wollongong to further his knowledge as a teacher.

    His proudest professional achievement to-date has come from the completion of his Honours thesis, which eventuated in a co-authored chapter in ‘Historical Thinking for History Teachers’; a textbook that highlights diverse new approaches to teaching history in Australian classrooms.

About Us.

In Focus Learning was founded by Kieren Beard, on the value of providing students authentic and valuable learning experiences from a qualified and esteemed English teacher. With detailed knowledge of various texts and their application in the NSW English curriculum, experience in teaching HSC English courses (Standard, Advanced, and Extension) and understanding of the examination and marking operations, Kieren aims to build In Focus Learning into a leading centre for learning and a supportive community for students.

Through this, we help students achieve three qualities – Learn, Challenge, Inspire.

Learning is the first step in your journey. We target the specifics – learn what you really need to know, distinguish what you want to know, and find dynamic approaches to apply knowledge more effectively.
